Comparison between PCR single tube and Micro centrifuge tube:
PCR tubes and micro centrifuge tube are most easily confounding products in laboratory since they are of similiar appearence. So geting to know the similarities and differences between them is the most inportant to avoid mixed them up.
Similar: same conical bottom shape, transparent color, sterile, and both of capacity capacity of 0.1ml, 0.2ml and 0.5ml
Differences:
PCR tubes mainly used for Polymease Chain Reaction experiment;
Micro centrifuge tubes mainly used for centrifugal experiment.
The biggest difference is the thickness of tube wall. Tube wall of micro centrifuge tube is generally thicker in order to ensure the requirements of centrifugation, while the tube wall of PCR tube is thinner in order to ensure the speed and uniformity of heat transfer. Therefore, in practical application, We do not recommend mixing the two. On the one hand, the thinner PCR tube may burst because it cannot bear large centrifugal force. On the other hand, the thicker micro centrifugal tube may affect the accuracy of PCR test because of slow and uneven heat transfer.
